We typically let our hunters choose the method of hunting Trophy African Porcupine that they prefer, though we recommend a .17 or .22 rifle, or .410 shotgun. This is not a difficult hunt...we
can accomodate hunters of any age and experience level. Porcuines have quite acute hearing and will freeze when approached. When cornered, these Porcupines can be aggressive, runnning sideways or
backwards to embed their sharp quills in an attacker.
5 toes on the front feet, the first toe being reduced to a small stump without a claw. Other toes have well developed claws. 5 toes on
the hind-feet, each with a claw. The fore- and hind-feet each show 3 intermediate pads and 2 proximal pads in the spoor.
